ESPN back into NASCAR
ESPN is back in the Nextel Cup coverage race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For this, ESPN is airing 66 h of NASCAR related programs to market its upcoming coverage of the final 17 races of the season.

ESPN was launched in 1979 and began covering NASCAR in the same year and since then, ESPN was locked out of a 2001 TV contract that split the season between Fox, NBC and TNT.
And now, the network is back on its field and signed an 8 year contract that splits the 36 race season on ABC/ESPN, Fox and TNT. All race telecasts will include a pre race show and the first use of HD inside cars cameras. For that, ESPN will use 17 different platforms to cover NASCAR. It will use, also a Tech Center, as a traveling TV studio that will showcase the technology of NASCAR.
