Fiat Minicar low cost

Fiat 500 wasn’t the only surprise prepared for the Italians. What will follow will be a very interesting for everybody! After the success with the new 500, Fiat intends to come as soon as possible with a minicar on the market. This time, Italians want to be rivals with the minicar low-cost models from Toyota and Renault.

The model can come on the market very soon and will cost around € 5,000. There are some clues how will look the future model. In 2000, at Auto Saloon from Geneva, Fiat presented Ecobasic concept, as a prototype for a “City car”, with a small consumption (3.0 liters/60 miles) and weighting 750 kg. What I can remember about the Ecobasic is that it’s using plastic materials for the body. That Concept was never used by the Italians, but I can think that it will be the prototype for the new minicar. The future low cost minicar is expected to be built in Fiat’s factory from Turkey, in Bursa.
