More about Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is what we want to say a “super light†model. This model was launched after their life rivals, Ferrari announced the lighter F430 Challenge Stradale at the Geneva Motor Show.
Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera has a 100 kg weight reduction and a slight power boost of 10 bhp, taking the total power output of its 5.0 litre V10 to 530 bhp.
The power was increase by the reduction of intake losses and of the exhaust back pressure; the engine cover is now made of naked carbon fibre and clear polycarbonate.
The carbon fibre is used also for the rear diffuser, door panels, under body tray, wing mirrors and for the transmission tunnel cover. It seems that polycarbonate is replacing glass parts where is possible.
Superleggera beats the standard Gallardo with 0.2 seconds getting from 0 to 62 mph; that means a great time of 3.8 seconds. Superleggera is using the standard e-gear robotised manual gearbox, but it’s made also a sports pack version, with revised springs and a suede covered steering wheel, an integral reversing camera, a fixed rear wing and more carbon fibre for the interior. This is an amazing car with great design!
