The future Opel Astra will come in 2010

Carl-Peter Forster, head of GM Europe, confirmed that production start to the new model Opel Astra in the factory in Bochum, Germany, was delayed until 2010.
The new generation of the Opel Astra model will be released on Mainland at the beginning of 2010 and available in several versions: hatchback with 3 and 5 doors, wagon and sedan. The future Astra will be assembled first in Ellesmere Port factory in the UK.
The new model will be based Delta platform (GM), which platform is based on the new Chevrolet Cruze.
Astra model is the best model under different brands from one geographical region to another: in Europe Opel, Vauxhall in Britain, Saturn in the U.S., Holden in Australia and Chevrolet in South America.
