Mercedes will launch on the market a predecessor of the successfully model- Gullwing. As we heard, the German producer is working to a predecessor of the famous model 300 SL, which was having doors opening as a seagull, that’s why the “Gullwing” name.
The German Magazine, Auto Motor und Sport published 2 images CGI with the future model design. The code name for this sporty is W198 and it suppose to be build after the actual SL platform.

To not be a competition for the SL, the future Gullwing will be shorter and under the hood will be a motorsport AMG propeller. The choose for this propeller will be the actual V8 AMG, of 6.2 liter and the maximum power will be around 620 hp.
The new car is expected to be commercialized after 2010. To maintain the exclusivity of the Mercedes model, it will be produced in only 5,000 pieces, and the acquisition price will be around € 200,000.
