Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion, 2008
Polo BlueMotion is one of the six vehicles Volkswagen BlueMotion, which will be exposed at the Auto Show in Frankfurt, this year. Polo is an ultra-compact model with a name in Europe, because of its carburant economy. The standard TDI has 4.4 liter consumption at 100 km.
The new BlueMotion is even better, being capable of 3.9 liter consumption. This number is superior even to Toyota Prius model, which can have this performance if it’s driven economic in town, with the electric engine, so without the classic propeller.

Polo manages to reach this performance and efficiency because of it higher improvements. Volkswagen made big changes to the gear box and the aerodynamics is optimized. BlueMotion has a new front spoiler, re-done grill and back spoilers. Polo has also high pressure tyres (which is a great solution for economic drive). Many drivers drive with tyres, having the pressure under the medium.
I bet that are some of you who don’t believe its performances, that’s why Volkswagen assured that the changes bring to the car didn’t change its performances.

The 80 hp engine manage to push the new Polo at 175 km/h. Even isn’t a star at this chapter, it can accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.8 seconds and I think it’s fast enough to have easy moves with it.
Polo BlueMotion demonstrates us that not only the hybrids are the answer to the Global Crises concerning the fuel. We have a cheap car, funny and a small impact over the nature.
