Aston Martin Rapide at the Arctic Circle!

Have already started a lot of spy images with the future model of the 4 doors from Aston Martin, called Rapide, and made some pictures on the computer. This time we have another set of images from spy Arctic Circle where the engineers from Aston Martin apparently made for the final tests that will take them as a direct competitor models like the Porsche Panamera.The car seen in these pictures are not spy camouflage at all, it is found only in part to mask the rear door handles.

Megabrands Aston Martin and Mercedes Benz Becoming Economic Allies?

According to british automotive magazine â€žCarâ€ the two brands, Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin are on the verge of becoming economic allies.

The partnership with Mercedes-Benz, would bring to Aston Martin a significant acces to various models of engines, most likely AMG engines modified for use in Aston Martin’s vehicles. At the moment, Aston Martin uses a V12 engine on the DBS and DB9, that dates back to the times when Aston Martin was still owned by Ford.

Whatâ€™s in it for Mercedes-Benz? According to â€žCarâ€ magazine, Aston may assist Mercedes with an upcoming redesign of the Maybach 57/62 ultra-luxury sedans. Mercedes would also become partial owner of the Aston Martin brand, a company that was one of the few profitable parts of Fordâ€™s now-defunct Premier Automotive Group.

The British from Aston Martin has operated a series of changes to the model V8 Vantage.
The goal? More power!
After nearly 3 years of production, the Aston Martin considered a necessary upgrade model V8 Vantage. It is not itself a facelift, because there are no changes to the design. It is just a technical upgrade, but not some one.
V8 engine of 4.3 liters and 380 HP has been amended so that cylinders reached 4.7 liters and maximum power has increased to 420 HP. And maximum torque has increased by 15% reaching 470 Nm.
Performances have increased, but not spectacular. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h is possible in 4.7 seconds – 4.8 seconds compared to what it was before, and the maximum speed reached 288 km / h (compared to 280 km / h).
Other improvements consist in a clutch disc with 500 grams more easily and speed automatic box has been electronically programmed to respond more smoothly into the “Comfort” and more aggressive mode “Sport“. Also, the suspension is now more rigid, and the modification to the steering system generates a greater precision.

The British presented the Vantage GT2 race version. Aston Martin presented first official photos with the new Vantage GT2, version that will compete in Le Mans Series races, the championship that will debut on 5th of April, in Barcelona.
The engine that will be on this great and powerful car will work with E85 bio-fuel. Although the race will start soon, Aston Martin didnâ€™t told too many about the Vantage GT2â€™s engine. Anyway, itâ€™s good to know that the race cars will be more ecological.

The V12 Vantage RS concept is based on Aston Martin’s critically acclaimed V8 Vantage coupe, but the company’s design and engineering team have fully exploited the design flexibility of their unique VH architecture and the motor sport development of their 6.0 litre V12 engine to create a dramatic and production feasible concept car focussed on extreme performance and dynamics.
Although the 600bhp power output of the V12 Vantage RS concept will be the focus of attention, just as significant is the level of weight reduction achieved by Aston Martin’s engineering team. With a kerb weight of less than 1600kg, the RS concept underlines Aston Martin’s continued commitment to intelligent use of materials and weight reduction as a means of achieving improved efficiency and performance. In common with the recently launched DBS, the bonnet and trunk lid are moulded in carbon fibre and the concept also adopts motor sport-inspired carbon ceramic brake discs.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS Concept

The 600bhp 6.0 litre engine featured in the V12 Vantage RS concept has benefited directly from the race development of this acclaimed power unit. It features a dry sump lubrication system, tuned length exhaust manifolds, forged pistons and steel con-rods, revised lift and duration camshafts and modified cylinder heads. Peak power is achieved at 6250rpm and peak torque of 690Nm is at 5000rpm.
With a power-to-weight ratio of over 375bhp per ton, the V12 Vantage RS concept is the fastest accelerating road car ever built by the company, capable of reaching 62mph (100km/h) from rest in 4.0 seconds and 100mph (160km/h) in just 8.5 seconds.

DB9S is the name of the exterior kit created by the Project Kahn for Aston Martin DB9, and it has as an inspiration source the Aston Martin DBS prototype.
